Verax™ continues to innovate, including broiler models as well as new work in layers and breeders

Verax™ is a unique precision health and nutrition platform built on a foundation of blood biomarkers, combined with necropsy observations and multiple other data inputs. It provides novel insights to poultry producers to make better, timely decisions to drive their business. Verax can help reduce mortality, mitigate disease-related performance challenges, and highlight opportunities for nutrition efficiency.

By using machine learning algorithms, models and analysis by the dsm-firmenich team of poultry and data scientists, Verax can tell you what your animals can’t. Customers can benefit both from ongoing monitoring of flocks and early detection or prediction of emerging issues, as well as diagnosis of performance issues that haven’t been resolved by other means. The service combines their birds’ biomarker data, the proprietary Verax database and relevant published research in reports and analysis available in the cloud-based Verax app.

Since its original launch for broilers, dsm-firmenich has continued to add to its portfolio of standard models against which all new broiler blood samplings are assessed. Current models include coccidiosis (GAC and MMX), enteritis, heat stress, acid/base balance, calcium/phosphorus, immunity and locomotion. In addition to these standard models, dsm-firmenich can also do custom data analytics to address customers’ specific issues and concerns. For example, we are developing analytics specific to signs of mycotoxin effects. We have also expanded our data capture and modeling for layers and broiler breeders.

Sampling results and data analytics are brought together in the online Verax app, where users can see the results of their birds compared to the proprietary Verax database. In addition, the app will curate studies and other literature specific to the issues and opportunities indicated by the birds’ biomarkers.
