The Art of Progress Prize

Re-imagine boundaries. Bend senses. Shape a sustainable tomorrow.

×

We know art drives innovation.

The Art of Progress Prize is our inaugural global award where art, innovation, and sustainability intersect – supporting the next generation of creative changemakers. We invite artists aged 35 and under from anywhere in the world whose multi-sensory, environmentally conscious practices – from bio-art and data visualization to scent-driven installations – push creative boundaries.

A Selection Committee of experts will nominate ten finalists, among whom up to five will be selected to present their work in an exhibition at our Swiss headquarters on the 18th of June 2026. A distinguished international jury will then select the Grand Prize winner. The award includes a €15,000 development grant, a year-long mentorship, and potential future collaborations.

Applications open November 25, 2025, and close March 1, 2026. We look forward to your submission.

“The art of progress prize reflects our belief that art can challenge assumptions, connect people and spark solutions – bringing progress to life.”

Evaluation happens in two tiers. After eligibility and completeness checks, the Selection Committee reviews all submissions and announces a shortlist of ten artists in April 2026. Next, an international Jury reviews finalists in May 2026, considers the employee vote, and selects the Grand Prize winner announced at the June 2026 Award & Exhibition.

We assess clear multi-sensory integration, a demonstrable sustainability dimension, artistic merit and originality, quality of documentation, and feasibility/potential for the €15,000 grant and year-long mentorship. Due to volume, we’re not able to provide individual feedback.

Submissions will be evaluated on four key dimensions:

  1. Artistic Merit & Originality: Pioneering ideas and conceptual depth.
  2. Sustainability Impact: Use of eco-driven materials or themes that put our planet first.
  3. Sensory Innovation: Commitment to multi-sensory or experiential work that pushes sensory boundaries.
  4. Exhibition Feasibility: Practical considerations for showcasing at our global headquarters and beyond.

Ten artists will be shortlisted. Up to five finalists will be invited to exhibit at our Kaiseraugst headquarters on the 18th of June, where the Grand Prize winner will also be announced.

Up to three works per application, submitted as images or video links. You may submit a multi-piece series under a single title if conceptually connected.

No. You may submit works in progress; however, if selected for the exhibition, the artwork must be completed and ready for installation and presentation at the exhibition and award ceremony on the 18th of June 2026.

Yes, artists retain full rights. Any sales during or following exhibition are at your discretion; proceeds belong entirely to you. However, any work selected for the exhibition (and any confirmed touring presentations) must remain available for the full exhibition/touring period. If you sell the work, please ensure a loan-back or delayed-delivery arrangement with the buyer.

Ideally, all materials are submitted in English. If English is genuinely not possible, you may submit in another language provided you include a ≤150-word English summary for each non-English document (and brief English captions for any videos).
