EcoLabels Introduction_2018-07
Consumer growing demand for natural products remains a key established trend, with around 60% of new facial skin care product launches carrying natural, herbal or botanical claims on pack.
Over the years, dsm-firmenich has responded to this demand by building a broad and varied portfolio of natural products from certified organic ingredients like the ALPAFLOR® range, of natural ingredients such as PENTAVITIN® and others of natural origin according to ISO 16128 standards. These products originate from an extensive variety of natural raw materials including edible vegetables, herbs, oils, marine sources, algae, yeast/fermentation and mineral sources.
To highlight the breadth of this offering, dsm-firmenich is now formalizing the dsm-firmenich House of Naturals, our range of natural and natural-origin products.
While there is growing interest in natural products among consumers, dsm-firmenich's research shows that there’s also substantial confusion about what “natural” really means. To minimize ambiguity for consumers and customers, we’ve therefore designed a simple icon system in which each product is marked with the relevant dsm-firmenich label to visibly show to which group of Naturals it belongs.
This Concept is organized in three key sections: (i) the growing consumer and customer demand for natural products, (ii) the organization of natural ingredients in intuitive clusters based on source materials, and (iii) the classification of the ingredients into three classes of natural products implemented via a simple icon system.
