  • Keep reading to explore five key benefits of the upgraded facility, from improved accuracy and faster development timelines to greater efficiency and scalability.

As global regulatory and safety expectations tighten across various markets—from dietary supplements to infant nutrition—the quality and reliability of a premix manufacturer have never mattered more. Today, brands need a trusted partner that can help them navigate an increasingly complex regulatory and commercial landscape with confidence. To help customers stay ahead of these evolving demands, we’ve completed a $10 million modernization of our Schenectady, NY premix facility in the United States, transforming it into one of the most advanced GMP-zoned human health premix sites in North America. In this article, we explore five operational capabilities of the new and improved premix facility—and what this means for customers.

Keep reading to see how Schenectady is setting new benchmarks in quality standards, operational performance, and sustainability across human food, dietary supplements, and infant formula premix blends.

1. Tighter accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness

At the heart of our upgraded facility is the centralized dispensary—one focused control room where ingredients are prepared for final premix applications. Creating this centralized space was an important quality investment, as it provides enhanced precision, traceability, and stronger audit readiness. As a result, it is easier to meet regulatory requirements, support customer audits, and maintain consistent product quality—giving our customers greater confidence in every premix batch.

2. Faster development timelines

We’ve integrated sample and pre-blend preparation directly into the dispensary flow, reducing the number of steps involved in the premix manufacturing process. That means fewer handoffs and compressed development timelines for our customers—so new formulas reach the market without delays. This allows quicker responses to emerging market trends and faster product validation.

3. Enhanced uniformity and efficiency

Our Schenectady premix site now includes dedicated repack and advanced powder technology rooms, allowing us to deliver specific particle sizes and pack formats tailored to a particular process. The new facility also features expanded material conditioning capabilities via advanced powder technology rooms further supporting uniformity and smoother downstream operations. For customers, that means more consistent nutrient distribution, precise dosing, and reliable product performance. This translates to more predictable outcomes, reduced risk of under- or over-supplementation, and less waste during production—helping customers maximize efficiency and return on their nutrition investment.

4. Upgraded quality control for stronger audit trails

We’ve redesigned material flow at Schenectady and created dedicated cleaning spaces. By making these upgrades, we’ve cut changeover time, lowered cross-contact risk, and strengthened the audit trail. This adds an extra layer of assurance around product safety and compliance for our customers. Also, by delivering quality at every step of the product life cycle, we support continuity of supply. Defined as a generational upgrade, the reinvented facility proudly provides the highest quality standards when it comes to premixes for infant nutrition.

5. Capacity that keeps pace with growth

Targeted layout improvements have helped us increase throughput and efficiency at Schenectady. With 35 blenders, the site now has the headroom to scale alongside our customers’ growth. For instance, expanded bin-operations space supports smoother material handling and higher production volumes. Together, upgrades like these help us ensure consistent lead times, dependable supply, and the flexibility to support growing demand as product portfolios expand.

A facility designed for trust and transparency

Almost 30 years after its establishment, the Schenectady site has entered an exciting next chapter as a future ready facility aligned with evolving regulatory and safety expectations, as well as increasingly rigorous customer audits. Today, the site supports higher service levels and long-term partnerships, while helping to reduce operational risk and maintain continuity as standards evolve.

As part of our enhanced premix partner offering, the facility is now open to customers for site visits—to showcase the systems, standards, and expertise that underpin our commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. We put transparency at the forefront of our partnerships, fostering trust and confidence in every premix created.
