What does it take to help people not just live longer, but live better? DO-HEALTH set out to answer exactly that. Europe's largest healthy aging trial followed over 2,100 adults aged 70 and older across seven clinical research centers and five countries, examining whether targeted nutrition and lifestyle changes could measurably slow biological aging. Published in Nature Aging, its findings offer compelling evidence that these combined interventions can make a meaningful difference to how we age—with participants gaining an estimated 2.9–3.8 months of biological age reduction over three years.1
Making that landmark science possible were two dsm-firmenich hero ingredients: life's®OMEGA 60 and Quali®-D.
Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial investigating the impact of vitamin D (Quali®-D), omega-3 (life’s®OMEGA 60), and exercise—individually and in combination—on pace of aging.
Participants receiving both active supplements took just two capsules a day—one delivering 2g of life's®OMEGA 60, the other 2,000 IU of Quali®-D.
The trial assessed bone, muscle, cardiovascular, cognitive, and immune health—covering the full breadth of systems most affected by aging.
Each participant was followed for 36 months, making DO-HEALTH one of the longest and most rigorous healthy aging trials ever conducted.
Carried out across Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, and Portugal, reflecting the diversity of the European aging population.
Men and women aged 70 and older were randomized to active treatment or placebo in a rigorously controlled design.
Chronological age tells only part of the story. Biological age is a more accurate measure of how well our bodies are functioning, at a cellular level. Remarkably, science now shows that biological age can be influenced by nutrition and exercise, as well as other interventions like sleep and human connection. DO-HEALTH measured biological aging using advanced epigenetic clocks (DNAm PhenoAge, GrimAge2, and DunedinPACE): sophisticated molecular tools recognized as reliable markers of how well we age.
life's®OMEGA 60 measurably slowed biological aging across multiple clock measures
The combination of life's®OMEGA 60 and Quali®-D produced a stronger effect together than either ingredient delivered independently
Participants gained an estimated 2.9–3.8 months of biological age advantage over three years
Notably, these effects were observed in an already healthy, active population
These results are meaningful, measurable, and demonstrate how life's®OMEGA 60 and Quali®-D provide a strong scientific foundation to support genuine healthy longevity claims.
DO-HEALTH was built on specific, rigorously sourced ingredients—and that distinction matters.
Brands referencing DO-HEALTH should use the exact ingredients the study was built on, so consumers can trust the science behind the claims.
Only life's®OMEGA 60 and Quali®-D are backed by the specific evidence generated in DO-HEALTH.
Advancing health expectancy globally requires solutions with undisputable evidence.
