Vertis™CanolaPRO®

Plant-based protein isolate

Small and Mighty: Meet Vertis™ CanolaPRO®

The next big thing in plant-based protein is very small…less than 1mm in diameter, to be precise. But don’t be fooled by its size- the mighty canola seed (rapeseed) packs a serious protein punch.

It’s the driving force behind Vertis™ CanolaPRO®, our innovative rapeseed protein isolate that’s ideal for use across a wide range of applications- including meat and dairy alternatives, sports and lifestyle nutrition products like protein bars, ready-to-drink (RTD) and ready-to-mix (RTM) beverages,  as well as protein fortified bread, cereals, pastas and many more…

  • A nutritious plant protein: Vertis™ CanolaPRO® is a high-quality, complete protein source containing all essential amino acids. It has a PDCAAS of 1 making it nutritionally comparable to some animal proteins, such as whey.
  • A highly functional plant protein: Vertis™ CanolaPRO®’s excellent solubility across a wide pH range, strong gelling, foaming and emulsifying properties allow versatile use in various food and beverage formats. Smooth protein drinks, soft plant-based bars, excellent bite in meat alternatives? Vertis™ CanolaPRO®  delivers in texture and moutfeel where other plant proteins may fall short.
  • A sustainable plant protein: Vertis™ CanolaPRO® is made by valorizing a side stream of edible oil production meaning, it requires no additional arable land to produce. It also has a lower CO2 and water footprint compared to some commonly used plant proteins.*

Better taste, backed by science

While Vertis™ CanolaPRO® has a distinct taste profile that works well in many applications, we have introduced ModulaSENSE® for Vertis™ CanolaPRO® - tailored masking solutions to unlock the full potential of this unique protein.

Vertis™ CanolaPRO® is officially Upcycled® Certified

Vertis™ CanolaPRO® is the first commercially available certified upcycled plant protein with a PDCAAS of 1.
Traditionally, when canola seeds is processed for oil, the remaining side stream is used as animal feed. Now, thanks to our patented, gentle extraction process, that same protein-rich stream is being transformed into nutritious, sustainable food for human consumption.
This certification – developed by leading sustainability experts from Harvard Law School and World Wildlife Fund – recognizes ingredients that reduce food waste and support a more sustainable food system.
