LNT（ラクト-N-テトラオース）はヒトの乳汁中に非常に豊富に存在する中性コアHMOである。 LNTはEUと米国で規制当局に申請されており、他の主要市場でも準備が進められている。 GLYCARE® LNTは2020年から市販される予定である。
腸の健康と微生物叢
臨床および前臨床研究では、HMOは微生物叢の発達と腸の健康に重要であると考えられている有益な細菌の増殖を促進するのに役立つ可能性があると報告されている。 前臨床研究からの証拠は、LNTがビフィズス菌の増殖にプラスの影響を与えることにより、腸の健康に役割を果たす可能性があることを示唆している4,5,6 。
